Using Macs in a PC World

As long as I can remember, most of the world of journalism, photography and video arts have been dominated by Macs. Pagemaker, InDesign, Photoshop, Final Cut, etc. just work better or only on Macs.

About 8 years ago, my school district went PC only – the district will not give any IT support for any non-Windows computer. But, that is actually a good thing, since it can take months to get them to fix a busted machine or install a font, or worse an application on a PC.

But all my kids come up through PreK-8 with no knowledge of Macs. So when they get to my classroom I have to explain how Macs are different. This week I’ve been working on a PowerPoint that explains the basics and simple differences of Macs & PCs. Enjoy.

If you have any problem with the PPT, please let me know. I’ll be happy to send it to you personally in another format such as a Quicktime file, but it is just too big to post online.
