YLYB #51: Be Present

Why do students keep taking yearbook, even after they know how much work is involved?  If they dont’ want to be a part of the yearbook, then they should not sign up for yearbook again.

What causes students to be on fire for yearbook one year, but then go totally cold the next year?  Maybe when something is new and different, then it is fun and interesting.  But after a year or two, it becomes old and boring.  They want the new shiny toy.

I guess it comes down to being present.  Not just physically in attendance, but mentally there for the right reasons.  I’m going to be addressing some of my students with this question later in the week.  Do you really want to be here?  If not, then where?

(This is Friday’s post – just a day late)  Sorry
