Sometimes you have to be out of the classroom and that means a Sub Day!  I hate sub days, but when you are really sick, have a sick kid at home or you need to attend a workshop they have to happen.  So, what does a journalism or media teacher do?  You’ll never find a sub who knows your content area, plus you don’t want them running around with equipment or just playing on the computers.  I usually choose a media themed movie.  There are several that are rated PG or PG-13 that are perfect for high school students.  But you need some activity to go with it like a quiz….

State of Play (2009) PG-13

  1. I just watched State of Play and would like to use it in my classroom. I think it has some interesting ethics issues plus the competition/working relationship between in print and online. Have you watched it? Do you have any quizzes or activities for it?
